Digital Signatures Now Legal on Oklahoma Real Estate Contracts
It’s official…on Wednesday, April 13, Governor Mary Fallin signed SB0657 into law, thus allowing digital signatures on real estate contracts in Oklahoma. Since the legislation included an emergency clause, the bill went into effect immediately with her signature. A special thank you the authors of the legislation, Sen. Clark Jolley, R-Edmond; Rep. Aaron Stiles, R-Norman; and of course Governor Fallin, for helping this critical issue become law in Oklahoma!

New 1099 Requirements Repealed
On Thursday, April 14th, President Obama signed H.R. 4 into law, officially repealing these new 1099 requirements. This repeals the small business 1099 reporting requirements that were enacted as part of the Health Care reform and the landlord reporting requirements enacted in 2010 as part of a Small Business bill. This legislation will be retroactive to December 31, 2010, essentially putting businesses in the position that the new 1099 reporting requirements never occurred.
