Vote for Tulsa City Council on November 8
The RPAC Trustees encourage you to exercise your individual right to vote on November 8. The RPAC Trustees voted to support the following candidates for Tulsa City Council: District 2 – Jeannie Cue; District 3 – David Patrick; District 4 – Blake Ewing; District 6 – Byron “Skip” Steele, III; District 7 – Tom Mansur; District 8 – Phillip Lankin, Jr.;  and District 9 – G.T. Bynum.   
Remember, your dues dollars are not used in support of candidates, and neither the GTAR nor NORES Board of Directors is involved in the decision of where the funds are distributed. Have the tools to overcome any objection and answer any questions regarding area sales, gain buyer loyalty and trust, and educate the buyer by explaining what can be expected during the home buying process, and problems that could arise. Title Insurance and the Commercial Transaction
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with Stan Keeton, Esq. This new course looks at the basics of title insurance in Oklahoma, and the role of title insurance in a commercial transaction. By the end of class, you will know and understand why a commercial closing is different from a residential closing; the time deadlines under the real estate contract; what the customer wants and what the title company will require. You will also learn about the various endorsements available so you can better counsel your clients. Topics covered: Title Insurance Basics in Oklahoma; Title Insurance Endorsements in the Commercial Transaction; Practical Tips for a Smooth Closing. GTAR is partnered with both McKissock Education and Barnes Real Estate School to offer you a variety of online continuing education classes to fulfill your OREC requirements.In addition to CE classes, McKissock offers a variety of classes for appraisers; Charles Barnes offers the 45 Hour Post License and 90 Hour Brokers License courses...AND, the new 15 hour OREC required Broker in Charge course is now available online through Charles Barnes. So how does it work? Simply go to tulsarealtors.com, click on the logos for either school, and follow the instructions. Any and all classes you take through McKissock and Charles Barnes are reported directly to OREC.
Technology and your Next Generation MLS—“Fusion”
Holidays are fast approaching—and that means technology specials and great prices on new pc’s! Your new next generation MLS, “Fusion” (coming 1st quarter 2012), will require certain computer specs for optimum use. If you are on an old system—somewhere around three years old or more—you might consider investing in a new system. Check your current system stats by right clicking on My Computer, and selecting Properties. Watch for future GTAR communications for more upcoming info on your next generation MLS—“Fusion.”
