ZipForm Update
ZipForm is one of the member benefits NORES subscribers receive as part of their quarterly fees.  The decision by OAR to discontinue the ZipForm product WILL NOT affect NORES subscribers in any way.  In fact, last month NORES renewed its Zipform agreement for three additional years. NORES supports the OAR decision to discontinue this service from the state association as we feel it is a duplication of services that is not needed or used by the Tulsa membership.
Fusion Timeline Update
Currently, we have NOT set a date for Tempo MLS to be shut off.

NAR: Stable Terrorism Insurance Needed
Any disruption in the availability of terrorism insurance would have serious consequences to commercial real estate, Linda St. Peter, vice chair of NAR's Commercial Committee, told a House Financial Services subcommittee in testimony last week. Since the September 11 attacks, the federal government has helped maintain the availability of terrorism insurance, which commercial property owners need to get financing. In her testimony, St. Peter said concern over whether the federal government will continue its involvement in the market could cause insurance prices to fluctuate and some insurers to leave the market, potentially exposing some owners to technical default on their mortgage.
GOVERNMENT ISSUES/LEGAL:
FTC Issues Privacy Guidelines for Mobile Apps
The Federal Trade Commission has released non-binding guidance for companies developing mobile apps to help ensure their programs meet federal privacy and truth-in-advertising principles. The guidelines should be helpful to companies that develop mobile apps for the real estate industry. Access a detailed FTC explanation.
FHFA Gives Banks Reason to Revisit Credit Overlays
A release by the Federal Housing Finance Agency last week might help ease home buyers' credit hurdles by giving lenders a reason to revisit the credit overlays that lenders have put in place to reduce their loan repurchase or buy-back risks. The credit overlays are underwriting standards that go above and beyond what Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac require. Lenders impose them to lessen the chance a loan will go bad and they'll have to buy it back because the underwriting didn't conform to the agencies' "representation and warranty" requirements. Yesterday's FHFA release is intended to clarify Fannie and Freddie rules on loan repurchases. Learn more.
