Pick the Winner of the Fair Housing Poster Contest

The Equal Opportunity Committee has selected the finalists for the Fair Housing Poster Contest. Now, it is up to you, our members, to choose the winners. Posters will be on display in GTAR’s lobby until April 30; stop by and cast your vote for your favorite in each grade level (1-5). The five winners will receive $100 each. Winners will be announced in the May issue of the GTAR World newsletter, and the awards ceremony will be at GTAR on Tuesday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m.

WCR’s Annual Style Show – Thursday, May 1

Don’t miss WCR’s Annual Style Show, Thursday, May 1, at the Greenwood Cultural Center downtown (322 N. Greenwood Ave.). Drinks start at 6:00 p.m. and dinner is at 7:00, followed by a fabulous style show. This year’s theme is “Derby Dazzle” for the Kentucky Derby. Win a dream vacation for two from Simmons Homes! Coming Up! Thinking Outside the Bubble – Thursday, May 15
The Truth about Real Estate, Foreclosures, and Today’s Homebuyers in Tulsa. 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the GTAR Training Center with Jason Oelrich. This course is an emerging market update from the nation’s largest mortgage lender (Countrywide Home Loans) specifically focused on the economic climate and current housing market for the greater Tulsa metropolitan area. This is the same course that was offered in January 2008; however, based on class feedback, this time the focus will be more on Tulsa, and information will be included to help real estate professionals understand the complexities associated with successfully negotiating short sales and recognizing when a short sale is a viable strategy. OREC approved for 3 hours required HOT CE credit. Revised Contracts and Related Addenda Class – Wednesday, May 28
The GTAR Directors just approved a one-time FREE offering of this class for anyone who was not able to get into OREC’s state teleconference class on April 25. GTAR’s class will be Wednesday, May 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Union Public School’s Performing Arts Center (UPAC), which is located right by UMAC. Attorney Robert Nichols will be teaching the class, which is open to all real estate licensees and OREC approved for 3 hours required HOT CE credit. This class is free but registration is required. NEW Sales Associate Forum:
How NOT to Lose Your License – Wednesday, May 21

9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the GTAR Training Center with OREC Senior Investigator, Sherry Kueffler. Have you ever wondered what could get you in trouble with OREC? Ms. Kueffler will discuss the most common reasons for an investigation, how little mistakes can become a big problem, and how you can stay out of trouble with OREC. You don’t want your 15 minutes of fame to be a line on the Disciplinary Action page of the OREC quarterly newsletter! This forum is free but registration is required.
