Rural Housing Eligibility Extended
Congress protected 900 rural communities from losing
eligibility for affordable Rural Housing Service loans by extending
the definition of rural communities. The communities were at risk of
losing eligibility because of changing population since the last 10-year
Census. The extended definition is part of the big continuing resolution
Congress passed to keep the government funded in the absence of a budget.
NAR has been championing
the rural community definition for some time.
INFORMATION TO USE:
Home Sales Continue to Rise in February
February existing-home sales and prices affirm a healthy
recovery is underway in the housing sector, NAR says. Sales have been above
year-ago levels for 20 consecutive months, while prices show 12 consecutive
months of year-over-year increases. Video and press
